How to Buy Rap Beats & Hip-Hop Beats Online

Why buy rap beats and hip hop beats online?
Why is it that more and more rap artists are joining in the act of buying rap beats and hip hop beats online? Are there really true benefits to it? Can it really be helpful?
The answer to these questions is, absolutely yes!
Buying beats online, whether they are rap beats, hip hop beats, or r&b instrumentals, is a truly beneficial process that can help up and coming independent music artists step up to an entirely different level in their music career.
There are many benefits to buying rap beats online. First of all, you can get platinum sounding rap beats for your project, without paying platinum costs. There are tons of up-and-coming, as well as established music producers out there who have extreme talent at making rap beats and hip hop beats, but they just don't have the big-time name yet.
Buying beats online from these producers allows you to take advantage of the fact that they don't have a huge name yet. Oftentimes, they will create platinum quality rap beats that sound just as good as some well known producers, and post them online for pennies compared to the hundreds of thousands of dollars you would pay for the same quality rap beat from a majorly known producer.
Having this high quality beat behind your songs will instantly make your songs sound super professional, and often, better than most new artists in your city.
These high quality and much less expensive hip hop beats and rap beats also inspire you to dig deep and write higher quality lyrics, because you realize that you don't want the beat to truly outshine your talent. You want listeners to speak well about the entire song. You don't want them to just say that the beat is tight, but have nothing to say about your vocals.
I have produced beats for artists for years, and have always noticed that higher quality beats helps them produce higher quality lyrics, delivery, and also gives them more confidence when recording. This is because as you are recording the song, and hear how good it is starting to sound, you will become filled with excitement.
Another advantage of downloading rap beats from the internet is instant delivery. You don't have to go sit in the studio, paying by the hour, waiting for a producer to create something. Keep in mind that this does have its advantages, but if you are a new artist and don't have a budget from a label or management company, then it's not in your best interest.
You can go online, and search through thousands of hip hop beats and rap beats that are already created, and find something that fits your style and your voice exactly!
When you find that perfect rap beat, you can most of the time place an order and dowload the beats right away! This allows you to instantly get started at writing.
You don't have to buy the beats blindly, because a good beat website should allow you to listen to at least 45 seconds of the beat before you buy it.
On my beat website, I allow artists to hear up to 1 minute and 30 seconds. A lot of times when rappers buy rap beats from my site, they have already written the chorus and first verse, because my snippets are so long!
Some have said that maybe I allow artists too much without a commitment to buy, but I feel that if an artist has a chance to really feel the beats, then I am confident that they will feel good about their purchase once they go all the way through with buying the beat.
There are many more benefits to buying rap beats, hip hop beats, and r&b instrumentals online.
This is the digital age, and in the digital age, things get done at the snap of a finger. The process of buying beats online is like a microwave. You can find, buy, and download beats in a matter of minutes!
You can also record your songs to these rap beats and have them back up on the internet for your fans and future fans to listen to the songs within the same week!
I've even had a few artists to download beats, and send me the song to check out the same day!
Even some of the major artists in the rap game are starting to buy rap beats online. Also, even some major producers have started offereing their beats on the internet.
Of course I was here many years before they came, so I am glad that my users still do business with me as well as these other producers. There is enough opportunity here for everyone to succeed, artists and producers.
Everyone is moving to the digital age, and most up-and-coming artists know of at least one website online where they can download hip hop beats and rap beats.
The benefits go even further than what I've talked about, but there is another question that is always raised that I have to address, and that is the issue of exclusive and non-exclusive, which I will deal with next.
Non-Exclusive vs. Exclusive Beats
Even though there are tons of benefits to getting beats online, I still every now and then hear an uninformed artist talk about why they "don't want to get a beat that somebody else has."
The funny thing about it is, usually the person saying this will be an artist who is currently spending money in the studio recording to a 50 Cent beat or another beat already being used by a major artist, that has been heard by millions of people. How hypocritical...
First, let's discuss the difference between non-exclusive and exclusive beats.
A non-exclusive beat, which is usually what you will get when buying rap beats or r&b instrumentals online, is a beat that you can buy a license to, for a very affordable price. This price is very affordable because instead of the producer being able to only sell it once and getting paid only that one time, they can sell it to multiple users for a smaller price.
For example, let's say a producer spent hours upon hours working on a beat, mixing it and mastering it, and could usually sell it for $5,000. You as a new artist, cannot afford to pay $5,000 for just one beat. So, the producer makes the beat available with a 'non-exclusive license' which allows the total price, $5,000 to be split between a certain number of artists.
This process makes everyone happy, because the producer still gets his work's worth out of it overtime, and the artists get to use the beat to instantly make their music sound a thousand times better.
Think of it as 'carpooling'. When everyone wants to get to work or to an event, and save money on gas, then they get together in one car, and split the costs. Eveyone gets to their destination, for much cheaper than it would have cost for each individual to go by themself.
This is how non-exclusive beats work. You want to get an album done, and perform in front of your fans, to new and original, hot material, but by yourself you can't afford to get to that point. Now that you are in a pool with other users in different parts of the world trying to get to the same point in their city, you not only can afford to finally get to your goal, but you can do it in style!
Instead of driving your hooptie to the destination, the carpool gets you there in a limo!
An exclusive beat is beat that is exclusive to you, meaning that you are the only person who has full use and unlimited rights with the beat. While this has its benefits just like anything else, the one disadvantage for new indie artists is that its expensive.
In the example above, I talked about how a producer could usually get $5,000 for the work that he puts into his rap beats. Well, at that rate, it could cost a new artist $50,000+ just to get enough beats for their album.
If you do have the budget to get exclusive beats, then I would highly recommend it. But if you are a new artist, then you should use non-exclusive beats, as a 'try before your buy' system.
Get the non-exclusive beats, record the songs, and if you feel that they are hits, then approach the producer about buying the beats exclusively.
You can also use non-exclusive beats to build your skills as a rapper. Certain beat websites also allow you to earn a profit with your songs recorded to their beats.
On my site, AaronBeats.com, I allow indie artists to sell up to 1,000 units of their songs recorded to my beats. I do this because, if you sell that many copies, you will have made enough money to come back and buy the beat exclusively, or you will have made enough to do more marketing for your music.
My ultimate goal is to help you take the next step in succeeding as an artist, so that in the future you will come back and be my client. I'm fine with making a little money on ya now, in hopes of seeing you succeed so I can make the big money from ya later ;) (a little producer humor)
Now, back to the people who think that everybody in the world is going to have the same beat. In all of the years that I have been selling rap beats, hip hop beats, and r&b instrumentals online, I have not yet ever seen anyone come into contact with someone in their same city who has had the same beat.
Think about this:
When you use Lil Wayne's beat from his latest song, millions and millions of people have heard the song, and millions of other rappers have also used that beat to record their 'mixtape.'
When you buy rap beats online, you are buying beats that no-where near as many people even know exist. If you buy a beat online that even 50 other people in the world have, then you are in a very rare situation.
The thing is, different people like different types of rap beats and hip hop beats. A lot of people may think that the beat is hot, but that doens't meant that it will fit their style of rapping. Therefore, there is a .00001%(percentage is just an estimate) chance that anyone within a certain radius of where you live will have the same beat that you got from a beat website.
Get the non-exclusive beats and use them to help you further your career.
If you are not a well-known artists, or better yet a platinum artist, then don't come in the game trying to lock down a produer's work if you haven't proven that you will do something with it and get it out in the industry.
The last thing a producer wants is to sell you his passion and hard work exclusively for dirt cheap, just for you to record a song, show your mom, and then put it on the shelf.
Better yet, think of it like this:
If you can't afford to pay the right price for an exclusive beat, then you probably can't afford to market your finished song properly to get it out there. So save your extra money for marketing, and get the non-exclusive beats.
Succeeding as a rapper or singer is a process, and a system. Put your process and system in order, don't risk your entire bank account, and prove to yourself that you will get a return on your investment if you are going to buy exclusive beats.
Paying the right price for rap beats and hip hop beats online
A question often asked by up-and-coming artists trying to buy music beats online is how much should they pay. There are things to note: r&b instrumentals will often cost more than rap beats and hip hop beats.
This is for 2 main reasons. While there are a lot of beat-makers who call themselves 'producers' who can make rap beats and hip hop beats, there are not as many who are as strong at creating r&b instrumentals. So because of the laws of supply and demand, r&b beats will usually cost more, because they are not as easily available as the rap beats.
The other reason is, creating r&b beats is a more musical process, and usually takes the skill of actually knowing how to play instruments. They also take longer to create, mix and master, compared to rap beats and hip hop beats.
The point is, r&b instrumentals are a higher investment to the producer. They are a higher investment of time, energy, and in some cases, money into learning how to play instruments, as well as the instruments themselves. A higher cost to the producer means a higher cost to the end user.
It is nothing to be worried about, if you like the beat, you just pay the fee to use it so that the producer can continue making more beats.
The thing that I have to stress about what is the 'right price' for buying beats online is this:
If you like the beat, it fits your style, will help you be creative, and you can afford to buy it.....then it is the right price.
Don't let the price of the perfect beat paralyze you from acting on it and buying it. There is no perfect number for the 'right price.' The 'right price' is when you can afford something that very much fits what you are trying to do.
There are thousands of new artists out there who have huge potential to succeed in the music business, but they are still recording to garbage beats or jacked industry beats and not doing anything to make themselves stand out.
They are not willing to invest into the beats that will help them get to the next level.
If you are an artist who isn't even willing to take the risk and invest a few dollars into your own material, then why in the world would you expect a record label or management company to take a risk? Why in the world would you expect fans to invest and pay for your music if you are not willing to invest and pay for the production of your own music?
Often times I will hear artists say, "I don't have money, I don't have a job, times is rough."
Listen, I understand all that, but just like times are rough for you right now, times are also rough for the record labels, the management companies, and especially the music fans.
But one thing about these people, especially the fans, is that when they believe in an artist, they do what it takes to invest into the artist, whethere its funding the production of the project, or the fans paying to buy the aritst's music.
So you have no excuse. If the excuse is 'I don't have a job,' then the solution is obviously to go out and get one.
Stop sitting back on the XBOX or PS3 allll day talking about how good a rapper or singer you are, and them making excuses to why you aren't doing anything with your 'greatness.'
If feel that your music is quality and people should pay top dollar for it, then you should also be willing to pay top dollar for the rap beats and r&b instrumentals that fit your great voice and lyrics.
The 'right price' is something that only you and your talent can determine. If you want the beat, and you can afford it, just get it...
Finding where to get rap beats and hip hop beats online
Now that we've gotten through the basics of buying rap beats online, we can discuss how to go about finding them. Keep in mind that all of the info that I've shared here applies for all types of beats that you can buy online, rap beats, hip-hop beats, and r&b instrumentals. So whatever you are looking for, the info that I've shared in this article should help you.
As far as looking for beats online, it is as simple as doing a search on google or yahoo for what you are looking for. The most commonly used keywords are 'rap beats' , 'hip hop beats' , and 'r&b instruementals' , while some people type 'rnb beats' , or 'rnb instrumentals'.
You can also use articles like this to determine if the source is a credible person to buy beats from. A person who takes time out of their day to put together aticles and information like this is surely a person who you can do good business with.
Some online producers only care about selling you beats, so they only contribute to the web by putting their beats up. I am interested in the bigger picture of seeing you succed over the long term.
While some producers online want to sell you a beat today, and sell to the nesxt person tommorrow, I want to equip you with all of the tools that you need today, so that you will come again tomorrow, and the next day, and for the life of your career.
I understand that in order to do that, I have to spend time and effort by doing more than just selling your beats. I have to do research and write articles and make videos that show you what steps to take after you get your beats online.
Just because you get a beat does not mean that you will be successful. That's why I can't just stop at selling you music beats. I have to contribute what I can to help you go further.
So when you find resources like this online, you can use them as a guage of it the contributor has their own site and if they are a good person to do 'beat business' with.
When you find a good beat site, make sure to bookmark it or add it to your favorites. Also, tell other music artists about the site and the producer behind the site. Things like this help the producer stay in business and allows him or her to continue making beats for you.
So I hope that this article has been informative and helpful to you. Feel free to check out my site, AaronBeats.com and leave me any comments you may have on my blog there as well...
